Fanisi Announce USD30m in Commitments for Fund II

Fanisi Capital have announced funding commitments of USD30m for their second fund, Fanisi Fund II. Fanisi II is a close-ended, ten-year SME fund investing in eastern Africa, mainly Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda. Fanisi Capital target a total fund size of USD75m. Fanisi Managing Partner and CEO Ayisi Makatiani anticipates that around 45% of the fund will come from local investors – including, interesting, eight local pension funds ‑ and the remainder from international investors. As the predecessor fund, the USD50m Fanisi I, now fully invested, the second fund will focus on healthcare, retail and wholesale, education and agri-business.
